NUTRITION / HERBAL MEDICINE
Cancer treatment can be hard on the body resulting in, nausea and vomiting, altered sense of taste and weight loss.  Proper nutrition, including avoiding or including particular foods can help support the body’s innate healing abilities, reduce weight loss, and minimize side effects. Also, several herbs have shown promise for managing side effects and symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, pain, fatigue, and insomnia.  These supplements to treatment should be taken on advice of a qualified professional such as a naturopathic doctor, an ayurvedic practitioner or an experienced herbalist.  Since some herbs are contraindicated during cancer treatment.  It is important to discuss all recommendations for supplements with your oncologist before adding them to your regimen.
